Folyo is between a job board and a marketplace for designers and companies looking for this service. this allows to source 10X faster the available profiles on the market for a particular project, and get a reply directly by email.
Having myself looked to source a webdesigner without finding easy and convenient resources on the web (they must have plenty of it, but where, what..?), I finally accounted on my relationships to do this market screening and get somebody I could trust and that  could understand the project. I imagine how hard or complicated this can be for a young company having to develop the product in-house.

The next feature to come is a an endosrement incentive to get more designers onboard. Maybe Sascha the next step could be to let the designer offer their best creations and ask your clients to endorse or sponsor the development, like a Kickstarter for design?

Thanks to Dustin Farrell, who clearly masters the technique here, we can enjoy Arizona in a brand new way. I particularly enjoy some nice tricks rarely used so far : smooth scrolling, rotation at the same pace as the night sky (blasting effect !) or keeping the camera in the shadow of a tree while the sun is moving. Really Dustin, you are in control enough to put the viewer in the middle of the scene, the emotion of such images are far stronger than what a movie could make.

Beauty and tech !

The very first Article of this blog is dedicated to Steve Jobs. Indeed, I would like to emphasize some of Apple’s key success factors that can inspire every one of us in our day to day lives : Disruptive behaviour, Beauty and Tech.

Disruption come as a usual strategy for launching an internet company. It was less obvious back in the 70′s, yet it has been a core asset of Apple as a company from the beginning. Be where you are less expected. Disruptive behavior is often perceived as negative. Disruptive technology is often embarrassing key players. Disruption is a game-changer. Hence its power.

Beauty is another one. Art is characteristic of Humanity, why can’t we find it in every day life’s objects ? Sometimes you have to slightly shift the perspective, looking at things from another angle. Photography is as a good exercise for that. Jobs was making good-looking products. I just try to make good-looking pictures. I won’t pretend to build a media empire from it, but you can still buy some shots from this blog !

Tech is trendy. Tech is cool. But tech isn’t necessarily beautiful. Tech is what makes things works. At the end, what matters is the use of it. Is it easy to understand? Do you like to use it? I like to know why things happen, how this works. sometimes it can be very pragmatic. It can be a scientific mechanism or an effective placebo effect. I like to get my hands dirty, go up the pipes in the engine. Still, I am not an engineer, so until then, I’ll stick to a user view of tech. Tech should be beautiful. Apple products are an example of desirable tech, marketing is great, but foremost, tech is embedded into a beautiful design.

There are many great ideas or thought leaders’ example  I would like to share here. Lavoisier said nothing’s really new, everything is transformed. Steve Jobs mastered this science and eventually turned it into art. This blog will certainly honor his legacy often.
